ABOUT US

SMF was founded in 1968 by Howard Steward and his son-in-law Clyde Burnett with just one customer.

They supplied Pre-painted panels for semi trailers. They would shear the panels to size, add corrugations and rivet holes.

Later they moved to a bigger location in Pagedale, MO where they added press brake forming capabilities as well as milling, drilling and tapping.  Later adding cnc punching and laser cutting. They relocated 2 more times to St. Peters, Missouri then to our current location in O'Fallon, Missouri. Clyde's son Ryan acquired the business in 2018. Ryan spent a lot of time at the shop messing around while growing up and started working part time as soon as he had his drivers license. After some college, he went to work full time at the shop in the late 1990's. He got the chance to work along side his father and learn the ins and outs of the business while working his way up from the bottom.
