Founded by Howard Steward and his son-in-law Clyde Burnett with a single customer, SMF has grown from shearing trailer panels into a fully integrated precision fabricator. Clyde's son Ryan runs the shop today, the same way he learned it: from the bottom up.

What does Steward Metal Fabricating make?
Precision sheet metal parts and welded assemblies, built to your drawing. We cut on a 6kW Mitsubishi fiber laser, form on CNC press brakes up to 12 feet, weld MIG, pulsed MIG, TIG and flux-cored, machine on Haas CNC equipment and install self-clinching hardware in-house. Aluminum and stainless steel are the specialty, and we run carbon steel as well. Powder coating, zinc plating and anodizing are coordinated through vetted finishing partners, so parts arrive finished.
Where are you located and what area do you serve?
The shop is at 788 Hoff Rd., O'Fallon, MO 63366, open Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Central. We quote work across the St. Louis metro and St. Charles County: St. Louis, O'Fallon, St. Charles, St. Peters, Wentzville, Lake St. Louis, Dardenne Prairie, Cottleville, Weldon Spring, Chesterfield, Earth City, Maryland Heights, Bridgeton, Hazelwood, Fenton, Valley Park, Washington and Troy. Finished parts ship nationwide.
Do you take one-off parts or only production runs?
Both, and there is no minimum. A quantity of one runs on the same laser and the same press brakes as a repeating production order, so there is no separate prototype shop and no handoff between them.
What file formats do you accept?
DXF, DWG, STEP and PDF. Send the material, thickness and quantity with the file, plus any finish you need, and email it to sales@smfinc.net or call 314-862-0918.
Do you ship outside the St. Louis area?
Yes. We ship finished parts nationwide. Everything is cut, formed, welded and machined in one building in O'Fallon, Missouri, and the work is build-to-print, so where the parts end up does not change how we quote them.
How long have you been in business?
Since 1968. Steward Metal Fabricating has been family owned and operated through three generations, from founder Howard Steward and his son-in-law Clyde Burnett to Clyde's son Ryan, who runs the shop today.
